Ponding.

If you asked me before Thursday what ponding was, I wouldn't have had an answer.  I volunteer in Emily's class every Thursday and this past week we, along with Mrs Duffy of Prescott Farm, brought the class to a pond located on the nature trails behind the school.  I was super excited that poured that morning making everything nice and muddy.  Nothing says fun like a bunch of kindergartners with nets scooping up pond muck and swinging them around for us to inspect them.  Good times.  Aside from the filth, the kids had a blast.  They found dragon fly nymphs, leeches, salamander eggs and caddisflies.  It was pretty cool.
They all started off pretty clean

Emily found some salamander eggs.  She was so excited!

It is so great that the kids have unique learning opportunities like this at their disposal.
Thanks Mrs. Duffy.
